Colossians 4:17 - And say to Archippus, "Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it."

About two years ago I embarked on a journey that soon transformed into an adventure... The year was 2008. I was sitting in the sanctuary of the Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta, California during an evening worship session and it was there that the Lord spoke to me. From what I can remember it wasn't anything special. I simply opened up my Bible to the Book of Colossians. The verse that stuck out to me specifically was verse 17 of chapter 4. It spoke of an exhortation to a man named Archippus. The Apostle Paul was telling him to fulfill the work he received in the Lord. Upon reading that verse I realized that the work I had received in the Lord at that time was Bible College. I hadn't even comprehended the thought of completing Bible College yet but it was right then that I fully realized I was being called to complete the full two year program. Who knew an exhortation to a man living about 2,000 years ago would speak so loudly in this present age.

Flash forward about 3 and 1/2 semesters... The year is 2010. In the process of fulfilling this current work in the Lord new desires and new works to complete have been revealed for the future. Since Bible College has begun I have discovered new spiritual gifts the Lord alone has given me, blessed with new desires and opportunities to use my gifts, witnessed the Mormon culture in the heart of Utah on a missions trip, experienced deep intimate fellowship with the body of Christ, learned the truths of the Word on levels I could never have imagined, trusted the Lord throughout the circumstances of life, been exercised in humility, love, and faith, and most recently traveled to Seattle. The Lord has shown me much in these past two years and is still doing just that. The very fact that I never (NEVER!) saw myself in Bible College, let alone desiring to teach the Bible, is a testimony of his power alone.

I look forward to seeing what the Lord has in store for me next... I can't wait to receive the next call and fulfill the next work... All to his glory!
